2006 Ad Lib

In 2005 access to some extraordinary fruit from like minded growers, gave us the opportunity to make two 'new' wines during the 2006 vintage. One is a blend of Grenache, (H A L i F A X) Shiraz and Cabernet, which by virtue of the seasonal conditions and availability of suitable fruit, is likely to change from year to year.

Ad Lib, is inspired by both the Southern Rhône predominance of Grenache in various appellations and blends, as much as the influence of some of the extraordinary blended wines being produced from it and Syrah and Cabernet, amongst others in Priorat, Spain. Its suitability to produce fabulous wines in certain parts of McLaren Vale is beyond any doubt in Peter's mind.

With the fragrance and lift of the Grenache, the spice and texture of our Shiraz, and the focus and structure of the Cabernet, we think Ad Lib captures the essence of each of these varieties producing a seamless, complex, flavoursome wine. Ad Lib is well suited to a wide range of food styles and dishes.
